Changed articles now ask for your OK

When you ask for a change to an article, the new version now sends you a ready-for-your-OK card, so approved articles no longer stall. The weekly and monthly report email also opens with a greeting and a row of numbers, and replies go to Damian.

New

  • The weekly and monthly report email now opens with a greeting and shows your numbers in a row, each with its change against the days before: shipped, clicks from Google, times shown and questions AI cites you for.
  • Each part of the report you picked gets its own labelled section, with a Connect Search Console button when Google isn't connected and a button to review what's waiting for your OK.

Improved

  • Change cards are skipped when autopilot ships the new version itself, through Page updates for a live article or New articles for one never shipped, and a held article still gets one.
  • Report email subjects now lead with your best number, such as clicks from Google and their rise, and fall back to what went out when there is no good number to lead with.
  • Replies to a report email now reach Damian, and the email asks what would make the report more useful.
  • Links in card emails now open the right site if you have more than one.
  • Finish setup still asks for a card if the one on file has expired or we couldn't check it.
  • Approving an article now says "You approved it. It goes live at the next free publish time." by email, on the approval page, in Telegram and in Slack, instead of quoting a version number.
  • If a page in the app breaks, you now see a short message that nothing on your site changed, with a Reload the page button, and the error is reported to us without any of your content.

Fixed

  • When you ask for a change to an article, you now get a card asking for your OK on the new version, so an approved article no longer stops shipping while it waits for an approval nobody asked for.
  • Replies to a change request in Slack and Telegram no longer end with a doubled full stop.
  • Report emails for sites without Search Console no longer show "0 clicks from Google" and zero times shown; they ask you to connect it instead.
  • Reloading an onboarding step, or following a link back to one, now carries on with your site instead of sending you back to "What's your site?".
  • Support chat now signs in for everyone, including people in onboarding and paying customers.
  • The sidebar no longer shows "Add a card" after you have added one.
